With ERP products and solutions penetrating the enterprise community, on the other side there are many ERP implementations that are failing. Even though there are several reasons for ERP implementations to fail, but there is a worrying number of ERP implementations failing due to organizational management and enterprise power struggle.
Organizations without ERP are maintained and controlled by Functional level organizational heads, but with ERP implementation there is change in the management dynamics, as now the question is who controls DATA, who approves data and who manages data. Now the controlling stake of CIO’s,CTO’s,IT-Directors role growing (previously known IT Managers), there is change the organizational management dynamics.
These internal management issues need to be sensitively understood by enterprise solution providers and handled appropriately as even enterprises need to grow from their current management lacunae to the next generation enterprises.
